The Sealy Ease adjustable base and the Leggett & Platt Falcon are two bases that you could easily put side by side. When shopping for a big purchase, it can be very hard to decide between all the different options. We are going to try and make that easy for you with today’s comparison of these two bases.
The Sealy Ease adjustable base is going to give you everything you need at an average price point for the category. The features are a bit slim, but the ones that are included, you will really benefit from. The first obvious feature is the wireless remote. From the remote you have access to the ergonomic positions, as well as a ‘One-Touch Flat’ button that will return the bed to the standard position. There is an LED light on the remote, but it doesn’t seem like it will make a huge difference in a very dark room. The Ease fits in many standard be frames, has 9” metal legs and works with most mattresses.
The Leggett & Platt Falcon has some impressive features too, although they seem quite different from the Ease. The remote on the Falcon is wireless. The options are the similar but the Falcon has one more button and doesn’t include an LED light. A dual up an down feature can be controlled from the remote, that allows you to adjust the headrest and footrest at the same time. The weight limit on the Falcon is 800lbs for a queen. 150lbs higher than what the Ease offers. A compressed steel frame makes the Falcon 30lbs lighter than a typical adjustable base. This is a huge feature, especially if you consider ever moving the bed. Finally, the Falcon has a MircoHook retention system that is exclusive to Leggett & Platt. Two bands of velcro like material attach to the mattress and keep it from sliding around during adjustment. If you choose to use a bed skirt with your base you will cover up the retention strips and need to use a retention bar. Fortunately, it's included with your base.
The warranty looks to be 10 years longer on the Leggett & Platt Falcon. A 1-3-25 Year Limited Warranty is included. The first year is a full warranty, years 2 and 3 are limited warranty and year 4 to 25 are a different limited warranty. The Sealy Ease has a 15-year prorated warranty that covers parts and labor associated with servicing the adjustable base for the first year, parts are covered for up to 5 years from the date of purchase, and the remainder of the warranty covers the frame against manufacturers defects.
At the end of the day the Falcon is $50 more for a longer warranty, a remote with more options and a higher weight limit.
